Cafe Koka
Case Study — Brand Identity

Cafe Koka

Koka Cafe recognised their branding had fallen behind the competition, feeling outdated next to newer cafes raising the bar visually. They wanted to hold onto the identity regulars already knew, while bringing it into a more minimal, considered space that still felt warm and inviting.

Regulars already recognised and liked Koka Cafe's brand, it just needed refining, not replacing, dialed back and sharpened to feel current again without losing what people already knew.

The wordmark was softened into a hand brushed style, with a coffee bean replacing the O in Koka for a small, distinctive touch. Iconic Australian animals illustrated drinking coffee gave the brand a personality it could call its own, while keeping the overall system simple and minimal, in step with where cafe branding is heading.
